UFL teams reduce rosters to regular-season limit of 50

With a week to go before kickoff to the 2024 season, the United Football League teams completed their cuts to reach the regular-season roster limit of 50 players on Saturday.

The Memphis Showboats and the Michigan Panthers were the last teams to announce their regular-season rosters after reducing their training-camp lineups.

Among the players waived on Saturday was linebacker Shaheed Salmon (Samford) by the Showboats.

Salmon is a spring-football veteran who played for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football in 2019 and the New Orleans Breakers of the USFL in 2023.

Since beginning his pro-football journey as an undrafted rookie with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018 after making 109 tackles for Samford in 2017, Salmon also has played for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
