UFL teams open training camp for the football league’s second season
On Thursday, Matt Corral was assisting at the NFL Scouting Combine as a passer for the field drills. On Sunday, the former Ole Miss quarterback re-signed for another season with the Birmingham Stallions, the United Football League announced.
Birmingham veteran JoJo Tillery also returned to Birmingham and the Stallions added former NFL wide receiver Shi Smith in other Sunday signings as UFL teams made additions right up to Monday’s start of training camp in Arlington, Texas.
Among the other Sunday signings was former Auburn wide receiver Eli Stove, who joined the Memphis Showboats.

With the start of training camp, the UFL teams are counting down to the kickoff of the season, which will come at 7 p.m. CDT March 28, when the Battlehawks and Roughnecks square off in Houston. FOX will televise the game.
The Stallions’ opener will be the concluding game of Week 1’s schedule. Birmingham goes on the road to take on the Defenders at 2 p.m. March 30. ESPN will televise the game.
The Stallions defeated the Brahmas 25-0 to win the inaugural UFL championship last season.
Birmingham’s 2024 UFL crown followed victories by the Stallions in the USFL Championship Game in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
