UAB’s Dylan Hopkins named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week
The Conference USA league office announced its weekly awards Monday and the UAB football team earned its fourth honor of the season following a 34-20 victory over Charlotte at home last week.
Redshirt junior quarterback Dylan Hopkins was named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in leading UAB to the win over the 49ers.
It’s the first weekly award in Hopkins’ career.
Hopkins finished 15-of-23 passing for 231 yards and a touchdown and interception against Charlotte and added 103 yards and a score on 10 rushing attempts. His 61-yard touchdown run with 1:03 remaining sealed the win for the Blazers.
In his last two games, Hopkins is 32-of-50 for 509 yards and 2 touchdowns, against one interception, and has rushed for 155 yards and a score on the ground, taking only one sack during that stretch.
The Blazers (4-2, 2-1) hit the road for a crucial C-USA matchup against Western Kentucky, Friday, Oct. 21, at remain at home and play hosts to Charlotte, Saturday, Oct. 15, at L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
