Tyreek Hill second to Christian McCaffrey for NFL award
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill finished as the runner-up for The Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year for the 2023 season.
The former West Alabama standout came in second to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey in the voting by a 50-member media panel.
McCaffrey received 39 first-place, eight second-place and three third-place votes. Hill got seven first-place, 32 second-place and eight third-place votes. Votes were worth five points for first, three points for second and one point for third.
McCaffrey led the NFL in rushing yards with 1,459, yards from scrimmage with 2,023 and touchdowns with 21.
Hill led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards, 13 touchdown receptions and an average of 14.5 yards per touch.
The other first-place votes for the award went to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who received three, and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who got one.
The award was presented on Thursday night during the NFL Honors program in Las Vegas.
