Former Alabama offensive tackle Tyler Steen has signed his first NFL contract, the Philadelphia Eagles announced on Thursday.
Steen joined the Eagles in the third round of the NFL Draft on April 28. He was the 65th selection in this year’s draft.

Drafted players receive four-year contracts. The values of those contracts are based on draft position, the NFL’s salary cap of $224.8 million for the 2023 season and this year’s rookie compensation pool in a formula spelled out in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and its players association.
While terms were not announced on Thursday, the values of the contracts can be estimated, which the sports financial website spotrac.com has done. Steen signed a contract with an estimated value of $5.75 million, including a $1.178 million signing bonus.
Steen started every game at left tackle for the Crimson Tide in the 2022 season. He transferred to Alabama after three seasons as a starter for Vanderbilt.
Philadelphia is set at offensive tackle for the 2023 season with Jordan Mailata on the left side and Lane Johnson on the right. But the Eagles did lose an offensive-line starter in free agency when right guard Isaac Seumalo signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
