Two people were killed as a result of a two-vehicle crash early this morning in Union Grove.

The Marshall County Coroner’s Office said the incident happened at about 5:50 a.m. in the area of 9500 Union Grove Road.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Jason Lee West, 46, of Guntersville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, Brent Anthony Word, 31, of Geraldine, was transported to Marshall Medical Center North, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Several agencies assisted in the incident. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating.
