Two Alabama license plates have new looks
Two specialty license plates in Alabama have a new look.
The Alabama Department of Revenue said redesigned Protect our Environment and University of South Alabama tags were available starting Nov. 1. Both specialty plates cost an additional $50.
Net proceeds from the fee for the Protect Our Environment tag go to Legacy Inc. and its efforts to provide environmental education in state classrooms. The new tag features a crane standing in a pond with a fish jumping from the water and a butterfly nearby. Underneath the state name is the phrase “Protect Our Environment.”
Net proceeds from the USA tag go to the university’s general scholarship fund. It features a red, white and blue theme, including a red jaguar, the school’s mascot, on a blue background with white “USA” underneath.
