Two Alabama elementary schools nationally recognized for achievement
Two Alabama schools will be recognized at the National Elementary and Secondary Education Act Conference in Austin, Texas, in February.
Hamilton Elementary School in Marion County and Brookwood Elementary School of Enterprise City are being honored for recent student performance and achievement.
Hamilton Elementary has shown remarkable student performance during the last two years, with an average achievement rate of 68.63%, according to a release from the state department of education. Brookwood Elementary has shown excellence with a 97.06% growth among English Learners for the 2023-2024 school year.

The schools were selected from among other Title I schools with high poverty rates and demonstrated improvement in certain students’ achievement rates.
Hamilton Elementary School houses students PK-4 and a special needs preschool program. Hamilton is also a Southern Association of Schools accredited school.
Brookwood Elementary School accommodates students PK-6 with an enrollment of 655. Brookwood Elementary was recognized in the National Principal Magazine, an article published showcasing the students and faculty.
