Tuscaloosa rape suspect sought by authorities; multiple victims may have been assaulted

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help Friday in locating a suspect wanted on rape charges.

Emmanuel Ineh, 22, whose last known address was the Redpoint Apartments at 1100 Hargrove Rd. East in Tuscaloosa, was developed as a suspect this week following a sexual assault investigation, said Capt. Jack Kennedy of the sheriff’s office’s Violent Crimes Unit.

The investigation revealed there may be multiple victims, Kennedy said.

Ineh, who is wanted on first-degree rape, is originally from Nigeria and may speak with an accent.

He was described as 6-feet 3-inches tall and 190 pounds.

Anyone with information on Ineh or his whereabouts was asked to call either Tuscaloosa police at 205-349-2121; the sheriff’s office at 205-752-0616; Northport police at 205-339-6600 or University of Alabama police at 205-348-5454.
