A Tuscaloosa man died Saturday in a crash in Marengo County.

State troopers identified the man as 70-year-old Richard E. Powell.

Sgt. Jeremy Burkett, a spokesman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said Powell was driving a pickup truck that left U.S. 80. The vehicle struck a utility pole and a tree before bursting into flames, Burkett said in a news release.

The crash happened about 10 miles east of Demopolis.

Troopers continue to investigate.
