Tuscaloosa man arrested after SWAT team responds to woman’s call for help
A man was arrested by the Tuscaloosa SWAT team after a woman reported being held in a motel room against her will, according to police.
The woman called police this morning from the Old English Inn on University Boulevard, where she said Robert Hardin Eatmon of Tuscaloosa was refusing to let her leave the motel room.
The Tuscaloosa Police SWAT team was called to the scene at 12:30 and tried to talk to Eatmon. Police reports said he stopped responding to their attempts, so the SWAT unit “breached the door and took him into custody at 1:25 p.m.”
The woman was found inside the room uninjured.
Eatmon, 60, has been charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment. His bond was set at $1,000.
