Tuscaloosa County teen killed in Saturday night crash
A 17-year-old Vance teen was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Tuscaloosa County, troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency report.
ALEA has not released the name of the teen.
The crash happened at 10:25 p.m. Saturday on Alabama 69 near the 136 mile marker, approximately five miles south of Tuscaloosa, according to a press release from ALEA.
The 17-year-old was killed when the 2005 Nissan Maxima the teen was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch, according to the press release. The teen was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers reported.
The teen was transported to a local area hospital where the youth later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead, according to the press release.
No other information is available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
