Tuscaloosa bar says it’s closing for good

A bar on The Strip in Tuscaloosa announced Saturday it will close for the final time.

Unique, which opened in 2021, posted on its Facebook page that it is “permanently closing after today.”

“We want to thank all of those for the love and support over the last four years, it’s been an amazing ride,” the post read.

Unique replaced Egan’s, a dive bar in the heart of the Strip, which closed in 2021 after 42 years of operation.

Unique was temporarily closed in January by court order after the bar’s owners were fined $3,100 for not providing proof of worker’s compensation insurance, AL.com reported.
