Tuscaloosa Academy senior quarterback Preston Lancaster was presented with his award this week as the fans’ choice for the inaugural AL.com Football Player of the Year.

Lancaster was seeded 16th out of 16 Alabama high school players in the AL.com Player of the Year bracket. In three weeks of fan voting, he defeated top-seeded Alvin Henderson in Round 1, No. 9 seed Landon Duckworth in the quarterfinals and No. 12 seed Myles Johnson in the semifinals.
