Tuberville at CPAC: ‘Far left’ progressives ‘want one gender’
U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville on Thursday urged a crowd gathered for the Conservative Political Action Coalition to take a more active role in education and consider running for their local school boards.
In a discussion with Trump Acting Attorney General and Matt Whitaker called “Sacking the Woke Playbook,” Tuberville said, “Our country is in trouble and it starts with education.”
The Alabama Republican said “far left … crazies” are “coming after family, they want to divide family. They don’t want any gender. They want one gender. They want to attack everything we’ve done over the years and go by their ideology.
“And they know, the left knows, especially the far left, the progressives, the crazies, they know if they can get to our young kids then it will change everything in a short period of time.”
Tuberville said when children were kept home from school due to COVID and attended class remotely, parents saw for the first time what they were taught in schools.
“It’s been going like that for a while,” Tuberville said. “Until we start recognizing what the left is doing, we’ve got no chance.”
Former President Donald Trump is expected to address the gathering, which also had scheduled appearances by Nikki Haley, the only other announced GOP presidential candidate, failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).
