Tua Tagovailoa scheduled to play in Madrid during the 2025 season
The Miami Dolphins will be the designated home team in the NFL’s first regular-season game in Spain, the league announced on Friday.
Led by former Alabama All-American quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins will play in Madrid at Bernabeu Stadium, the home of the Real Madrid soccer team.
Miami’s opponent, along with the game’s date and kickoff time, will be announced when the 2025 NFL schedule is revealed this spring.
Miami has a 2-5 record in games played outside the United States.
Tagovailoa has been the Dolphins quarterback in two international games. He completed 33-of-47 passes for 329 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in Miami’s 23-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Oct. 17, 2021, in London and 21-of-34 passes for 193 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in a 21-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 5, 2023, in Frankfurt.
