Trump to Tucker Carlson: Low water pressure showers make it hard to âwash your beautiful hairâ
During his Wednesday night interview with Tucker Carlson, former president Donald Trump complained about regulations limiting the amount of water used by household appliances.
“Most of the states have so much water. Ya know, comes out of heaven. The water pours down, you have it, it’s there,” Trump said.
While noting some states have a shortage of water, Trump said states “have sinks where no water comes out….No water comes out of the shower, no water is allowed to go into the washing machine for your dishes or clothing.”
Carlson asked him, “Wait, they have sinks where no water comes out?”
“When I say water, very little water,” Trump said. “You want to wash your hands, right? You turn on the sink, and there’s very little. Or you want to wash your beautiful hair, and you’re standing under the shower, then the water comes out very slowly. I’m sure you’ve seen this.”
While president, Trump complained he wasn’t getting wet enough because of limits on water flow from showerheads, leading to his administration implementing new rules, The Associated Press reported.
Since 1992, federal law dictated that new showerheads should not pour more than 2.5 gallons of water per minute. Trump’s rule would have allowed each nozzle leading to a showerhead to pump 2.5 gallons per minute, meaning a showerhead could pump up to 10 or 15 gallons per minute.
The Biden administration dropped the Trump-era rule in 2021.
