Trump praises Tuberville in Michigan: ‘They love him in Alabama’

Former President Donald Trump praised Alabama’s senior Senator, Tommy Tuberville, as he took the stage in Novi, Michigan.

“One of the great Senators, one of the most powerful people, by the way an incredible football coach, he was an incredible football coach and now he’s an incredible Senator,” Trump said as he pointed out Tuberville in the crowd.

“He’s an incredible man and the love him in Alabama. They love him all over the country,” Trump said.

Trump spoke at Oakland County GOP’s Lincoln Day Dinner, where he was honored by the party as its “Man of the Decade,” according to The Associated Press.

Tuberville, a Trump ally during the 2020 campaign, has continued to back the former president. He endorsed the former president’s 2024 campaign shortly after Trump formally announced his candidacy.

“You know what you’re getting with President Trump,” Tuberville said in November. “He doesn’t have to learn the ropes.”

Tuberville in June missed a vote calling to end debate on President Joe Biden’s nomination of Jared Bernstein as chair of the Council of Economic Advisors (CEA) because he was traveling to an event at Trump’s summer retreat in New Jersey.
