Trump endorses Dale Strong for Congress in north Alabama
Less than two weeks before election day and in a race Dale Strong is expected to win handily, former President Donald Trump announced his endorsement for the longtime chair of the Madison County Commission.
Trump announced his endorsement Thursday on his Truth Social website.

Strong joins Alabama’s five incumbent Republican congressmen who have received Trump’s backing. According to NPR, Trump announced endorsements for U.S. Reps. Robert Aderholt, Jerry Carl, Barry Moore and Mike Rogers three days before the primary in May. He endorsed U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer about four months before the primary.
Aderholt, Carl, Moore and Palmer were all unopposed in their primary. Rogers won the GOP nomination with 82% of the vote.
Trump also endorsed U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks in the Senate race before rescinding that backing and supporting Republican nominee Katie Britt.
“I am humbled to have President Trump’s endorsement,” Strong posted on his campaign Facebook page. “It is a special day when the president calls you with that kind of good news. It is sad to see how two years of Joe Biden has weakened our national defense, opened our southern border and sent the price of food and gas skyrocketing. The first step to save America comes in 12 days!! I need your vote!”
Trump said in his social media post that Strong would be a “fantastic” congressman for north Alabama and noted that Strong has been a supporter.
Strong faces Democrat Kathy Warner-Stanton and Libertarian P.J. Greer in next month’s general election. In the primary election, more than 101,000 votes were cast for Republicans while Democrats received 15,749 votes. Strong also holds a commanding fundraising lead over his opponents as well.
