Trump arraignment: Will former President Trump have a mug shot? Will he be handcuffed?
Former President Donald Trump is expected to appear in court in New York City today to be formally arraigned on criminal charges.
Trump, the first former president to face charges, arrived in Manhattan Monday and is expected to return to Florida shortly after his arraignment, scheduled for 2:15 p.m. ET (1:15 p.m. CT), The Hill reported.
Trump has been indicted in connection to money paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels as part of a scheme to silence her in regard to an alleged affair. Trump denies the allegations.

Citing sources, Yahoo News reports Trump will be charged with 34 counts of falsification of business records. The sources indicate Trump will not be placed in handcuffs, put in a jail cell or subjected to a mug shot, all of which are typical treatment for defendants.
The New York Times reports Trump will have his fingerprints taken and will be assigned a New York State ID number to track his criminal history. The Times reports that New York law requires fingerprints be taken for anyone charged with a crime but law enforcement has discretion over whether they take a mug shot.
Officials said there was a concern than a mug shot of Trump would be leaked, a violation of state law.
A mug shot would also require transporting Trump to another facility which would add to the security issues surrounding his appearance.
