Troy picks up 2 defensive players through transfer portal

Troy on Saturday picked up a pair of transfer portal commitments from defensive players, linebacker Jah-Mal Williams and lineman Joshua Donald.

Williams (6-foot-4, 238 pounds) comes to the Trojans from Cincinnati, where he totaled six tackles in 11 games as a redshirt sophomore in 2023. A native of Carver Ranches, Fla., he has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Donald (6-2, 300) played this past season on the FCS level at Southern, where he totaled 11 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack in nine games. A Durham, N.C., native, he has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Williams and Donald make seven transfer portal commitments for Troy, which has also added cornerback Cecil Powell (North Carolina State), running back Gerald Green (East Carolina), safety Jordan Perry (Kansas State) and linebackers RaRa Dillsworth (East Carolina) and Brendan Jackson (Gardner-Webb) since the end of the season. The Trojans hired Gerad Parker as head coach on Dec. 17 to replace Jon Sumrall, who took the Tulane job.
