Troy adds Chris Boone, Kevin Reihner to football staff

Troy has added two more football assistants to its 2024 coaching staff under new head coach Gerad Parker.

Chris Boone will coach outside linebackers for the Trojans, while Kevin Reihner will coach tight ends and offensive tackles. Boone comes to Troy from Samford, while Reihner spent last season with Parker at Notre Dame.

Boone was defensive coordinator and safeties coach the last two seasons at Samford, a highly successful FCS program. A Southern Miss graduate, he has also coached at East Mississippi Community College, UAB, Arkansas-Monticello, Murray State, Northwestern State, UT Martin and at his alma mater, among other stops.

Reihner was a senior offensive analyst in 2023 at Notre Dame, where Parker was offensive coordinator. Prior to that, the former Stanford and Penn State center was offensive line coach at Old Dominion for three seasons, in addition to stints at Delaware, Penn State and Wake Forest.

Parker, who was hired Dec. 17 to replace Jon Sumrall, has now filled half of his on-field staff. Already on board are co-defensive coordinator/inside linebackers coach Nathan Burton, wide receivers coach Gary Banks and cornerbacks coach Travis Pearson.
