A man was shot and killed last night in Triana, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 21, deputies received a 911 call regarding a shooting incident in the 100 block of Murphy Lane in Triana, according to a recent release.

In response, multiple units from the Sheriff’s Office and the Huntsville Police Department arrived at the scene.

Upon arrival, it was determined that Trayvon Deshawn Harris, 37, had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital by Huntsville Emergency Medical Services for medical care but died as a result of his injuries a short time later.

Sheriff’s Major Crimes detectives and CSI are currently working on collecting evidence and conducting interviews with witnesses to identify the offender and establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting, the release said.

The Madison County Sheriff’s office said they will release further details as the investigation continues.
