Trash Pandas’ Toyota Field to host 13 high school games

High school baseball will take center stage at Madison’s Toyota Field, home of the Double-A Rocket City Trash Pandas, as 13 games are scheduled to be played on four dates beginning on March 1.

According to a release from the Trash Pandas, the high schools will play a double-header on March 1, a triple-header on March 23 and quadruple-headers on March 24 and March 25.

UNA will play Auburn on Feb. 21 to get baseball underway at the soon-to-be 3-year-old stadium.

On March 1, New Hope will face Priceville at 4:30 p.m. followed by Athens vs. Grissom at 7 p.m.

The James Clemens High School Spring Take Off Tournament starts on March 23 with Holtville playing Opelika at 1 p.m. and Priceville at 4 p.m. James Clemens will play Creek Wood of North Charlotte, Tenn., at 7 p.m.

On March 24, Holtville will face Collierville, Tenn., at 10 a.m. Opelika plays Collierville at 1 p.m. Stanhope Elmore plays Oakland of Murfreesboro, Tenn., at 4 p.m. James Clemens closes out the event with a 7 p.m. game vs. Oakland.

On March 25, the tournament wraps up with Stanhope Elmore vs. Creek Wood at 10 a.m. Stanhope will meet Riverdale of Murfreesboro, Tenn., at 1 p.m. Russellville plays Riverdale at 4 p.m. and James Clemens meets Russellville at 7 p.m.

Gates open one hour before the first game each day. Tickets are $10 per day and are good for all the games. Tickets for all games are available for purchase at this Trash Pandas link. James Clemens High School Spring Take Off Tournament tickets must be purchased from the Trash Pandas. Tickets purchased elsewhere will not be honored.

Parking at Toyota Field is $3 per day, available through the Clutch! app. Parking is charged only once per day and guests can leave and re-enter. Toyota Field concession stands will be open.

After the University of Alabama plays Middle Tennessee State on March 28, the preps will return for a final game of the spring at Toyota Field. Bob Jones will play Hoover at 5 p.m. on April 24.

Toyota Field is a cashless venue, accepting most major credit cards as well as Apple Pay and Google pay. A clear bag policy will be in effect and no outside food or drink is allowed at Toyota Field.

Opening Night for the Trash Pandas is April 6 vs. the Chattanooga Lookouts. The game is set for 6:35 p.m.
