Trained search teams continue hunt for missing 13-year-old Jefferson County boy; ALEA issues alert
The search continues for a 13-year-old Jefferson County boy missing since Tuesday night.
Trained search teams on Thursday morning were canvassing the area near Bluff Creek Road for Jason Gonzalez. He is believed to be a runaway, however family told Jefferson County sheriff’s investigators it is unlike the boy to disappear.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday issued an Emergency Missing Child Alert.
Jason was last seen about 10 p.m. Tuesday in Quinton. He may be traveling with a backpack.

Lt. Joni Money said there are lot of hazards in today’s search area, so they are asking the public to refrain from entering the woods.
“At this time, it would be best to not have a lot of foot traffic in the area so the K-9 units may be able to pick up Jason’s track if he is in the area,’’ Money said.
Jason has red hair and blue eyes. He is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He was last known to be wearing a black and white hoodie, black pants and black Adidas sneakers.
