Toyota recall affects over 440,000 vehicles: Is yours included?

More than 400,000 Toyota cars are being recalled due to issues with the vehicle’s reverse lights.

According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the auto manufacturer is recalling 443,444 cars because moisture may enter the reverse light assemblies and reduce visibility. A malfunctioning reverse light could result in pedestrians or other drivers not being warned the vehicle is backing up, which can increase crash risk, NHTSA said.

The recall covers certain 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. Toyota’s numbers for this recall are 24TB06 and 24TA06.

Toyota dealers will replace both reverse light assemblies and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Notification letters are expected to be mailed June 30 or you may contact Toyota’s customer service at 1-800-331-4331 for more information.

Toyota owners can check to see if their cars have been recalled by entering their VIN numbers and other information into the NHTSA recall database.
