A Town Creek woman died following a single-vehicle crash this morning.

Cpl. Reginal King of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. Friday on Alabama 184 near the 13 mile marker, about 10 miles east of Muscle Shoals.

Sondra R. McCutchen, 55, was injured when the 2009 Ford Fusion she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. McCutchen was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, King said.

McCutchen was transported to Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, where she was later pronounced dead.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
