Toddler girl found dead in north Alabama pond after wandering away from home

A toddler girl is dead after she apparently wandered out of her home and drowned in a nearby pond.

Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood identified the girl as Adalynn Guleff. She was 2 years old.

Adalynn reportedly left the family’s home in the 1600 block of Highway 157 north of Moulton Thursday afternoon.

Norwood said a neighbor found her and called 911.

The neighbor began CPR on the child and continued until Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies arrived and took over.

Adalynn was taken to Lawrence Medical Center in Moulton where doctors worked on her for another 39 minutes, Norwood said. She was pronounced dead at 4:29 p.m.

Adalynn’s body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
