Toddler dies of injuries sustained in Alabama wreck that killed grandmother
A toddler who was among five grandchildren hurt in a north Alabama wreck Thursday that killed their grandmother has died of their injuries, authorities said Friday.
The 1-year-old child, who was a passenger in the Honda Pilot involved in the wreck 9:25 a.m. Thursday on Alabama 64 near Lauderdale County 381, died 8:55 a.m. Friday at an area hospital, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey.
The toddler’s grandmother, 63-year-old Emma Wade, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The Pilot collided with a tractor-trailer, whose driver was taken to North Alabama Medical Center for treatment.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
