Tiffany Gomas, ‘the crazy plane lady,’ apologizes for in-flight freakout

Tiffany Gomas has come forward to issue an apology over the in-flight freakout video of which went viral on social media.

In a new video obtained by TMZ, Gomas, who refers to herself as “the crazy plane lady,” says she let her emotions get the best of her during the July 2 incident.

“First and foremost, I want to take full accountability for my actions; they were completely unacceptable,” she says, looking into the camera.

“Distressed or not, I should have been in control of my emotions and that was not the case. My use of profanity was completely unnecessary, and I want to apologize to everyone on that plane, especially those that had children onboard,” she continued.

The apology comes less than a week after Gomas, a 38-year-old marketing executive from Dallas, Tex., had her identity revealed online. She gained notoriety for shouting “That motherf—-r back there is not real” in a plane aisle as stunned passengers looked on.

While she admits some of the memes she inspired have made her laugh, the jokes have been “very invasive and unkind,” she said.

Gomas also acknowledged how difficult it must have been for parents to explain what was happening to their children who witnessed the event, but did not offer any form of an explanation herself.

Instead, she reasoned, “we all have our bad moments, some worse than others. And mine happened to be caught on camera for the whole world to see.”

Visibly holding back tears, Gomas also thanked friends and family that have supported her since the incident, adding that she hopes she can use the experience and “do a little bit of good in the world.”
