Three people reportedly hospitalized after water rescue on Pensacola Beach
Four people were rescued from dangerous currents off Pensacola Beach Friday, with three taken to a local hospital.
WEAR reports the incident happened about 12:30 p.m. Friday near Walkover 25C on Pensacola Beach.
Escambia County officials told the TV station two adults were flown to the hospital via helicopter, while another was taken by ambulance. A fourth victim, a child, was treated at the scene.
Following the incident, warning flags were changed to red due to the dangerous currents. Red flags mean extremely dangerous surf conditions and only very strong swimmers should enter the water.
