Thompson 2025 star DB will join brother at Southern Cal
Thompson 2025 safety Anquon Fegans – one of the top rising juniors in the state of Alabama – has committed to play at Southern Cal.
Fegans announced his commitment on social media Sunday afternoon.
He is the second-ranked recruit in the state of Alabama for the Class of 2025, according to the 247 composite rankings, behind only Saraland wide receiver and Alabama commit Ryan Williams.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Fegans helped Thompson to its fourth straight Class 7A state title in 2022. He finished with nine interceptions, including three for touchdowns, and 11 pass breakups. He was a first team ASWA All-State selection and a finalist for Class 7A Back of the Year.

His older brother Tre’Quon Fegans announced Sunday that he also was committing to the Trojans. Fegans signed with Alabama out of Thompson.
“Can’t wait to play with my brother,” Anquon Fegans tweeted.
Thompson defensive coordinator Shawn Defoor said it would be hard to find a better safety in the nation than Fegans.
“He’s rangy, he’s physical,” Defoor said. “He has elite speed, can cover ground very well. He can play corner, safety, star. He’s very athletic, very gifted.”
Fegans moved to Thompson before his ninth-grade year. Defoor said that likely helped his quick improvement.
“I think it helped him grow and mature as a player,” Defoor said. “A lot of times, he could be inclined to just depend on his athletic ability, but Anquon can also depend on his knowledge and football instincts to make plays.”
