A Thomasville man died after a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Marengo County, according to a statement from state troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Tyler T. Smith, 25, of Thomasville, was critically injured when the 2005 Suzuki SV650 motorcycle he was driving collided head-on with a 2019 Can-Am Outlander XMR all-terrain vehicle (ATV) operated by Jalonte D. Dixon, 25, of Dixon Mills, according to the statement. The crash happened about 7:45 p.m. Saturday on Marengo County 6, about eight miles north of Thomasville.

Smith and Dixon were both injured and transported to University Hospital in Mobile, where Smith later died on Sunday, troopers stated.

Smith was not using a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the statement.

No other information was available as troops continue to investigate the crash.
