Infirmary Health has plans to add 25 additional beds to Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, according to information released at a special city council meeting Thursday afternoon.

Representatives from the Fairhope hospital presented mockups and plans for a new tower that received approval from the State Health Planning and Development Agency board in 2022, according to a representative from Infirmary Health. Any medical development, including updates to existing facilities, has to pass through this board and demonstrate a need in the community.
