This popular breakfast item is now a dessert

Pop-Tarts have announced two new items and they’re not just for breakfast.

Kellanova – the company that oversees a number of snack brands including Pringles, Pop-Tarts, Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats – has released a lineup of ice cream sandwiches and pints of ice cream.

USA TODAY reports the Pop-Tarts ice cream pints will blend “indulgent ice cream with flavor swirls and pastry-style pieces” while the sandwiches feature ice cream flavors layered between “flavor-filled pastry-style ends.”

The Pop-Tarts ice cream sandwiches will be available in three flavors – Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Frosted Strawberry and Frosted Chocolate Fudge.

The ice cream pints flavors will be Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Frosted Strawberry and Frosted S’mores.

“These new launches are a fun and flavorful celebration of our brands, and they bring the same joy and familiarity consumers love in imaginative new forms,” said David Lee, Sr. Director of Global Licensing & Cultural Marketing at Kellanova, according to Mlive.com. “It’s always exciting to see how our brand DNA is brought to life through bold, unexpected innovation.”

So far, the reception to the Pop-Tarts new ice cream lineup seems positive, and some ice cream hopefuls even had a few suggestions for future flavors.

“I’m here for Pop-Tarts ice cream, but hey, just one little suggestion: Can we please get cookies and cream flavor?” wrote Mel Curry of Delish. “I mean, Brown Sugar Cinnamon and Frosted Strawberry are good and all, but nothing beats the classic Oreo combo.”
