This massive $4.1 billion Alabama plant is hiring right now with same-day job offers
Hiring will begin Thursday for positions at the future $4.1 billion Novelis aluminum plant in North Baldwin County, Alabama.
The sessions, called a ‘three-day hiring blitz,’ offer prospective job candidates an opportunity for face-to-face interviews and possible same-day job offers, depending on the role.
“Folks interviewed and talking to us would be hired in the next few months to next year,” said Callie Cox, a Novelis spokesperson.
She said the positions range from entry-level to seasonal professional jobs. They include, among others, shift supervisors, operators, and maintenance technicians.
Novelis in Bay Minette, which is currently under construction, will employ up to 1,000 people once the plant is operational during the second half of 2026.
The building structure is nearly complete, she said, and equipment installations are underway.
“The Novelis Bay Minette project continues to remain on schedule with significant progress underway,” Cox said. There are more than 1,500 contractors on site and the company anticipates up to 5,000 at peak construction.
“It’s a generational investment driving economic growth across Baldwin County and the state of Alabama,” she said.
The schedule for the three-day event includes:
- 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette.
- 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance in Fairhope
- 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Bishop State Community College in downtown Mobile.
