A Huntsville-based telecommunications equipment company shined on an otherwise uneventful Friday on our Huntsville and Alabama Stock Report.

Adtran rocketed up 5.1% to close at $8.04 a share.

Other notable gainers included Tyson (2.8%), Community Health Systems (1.1%) and Hexcel (0.9%).

At the bottom of the table was Constellium, which dropped 2%.

Constellium Muscle Shoals is a major aluminum sheet supplier for the packaging and automotive markets. The plant has around 1,200 employees.

Overall, a choppy day of trading on Wall Street ended Friday with an uneven finish for the major stock indexes, as mixed economic data stoked worries that the Federal Reserve’s work on bringing inflation to heel isn’t done.
