If you live in north Huntsville, you’re challenged to a “Deck the District” holiday light contest.

The contest, sponsored by City Council Member Devyn Keith, is for City Council District 1 residents only so check a district map to make sure you qualify. Prizes will go to first, second and third-place entries.

Colored-lights or inflatables, you’re encouraged to go all out. Just complete the online entry form and attach photos of your house by Tuesday, Dec. 14. Properties will be judged Dec. 15-18. Winners will be recognized at the Dec. 21 City Council meeting.

“One of the best parts of the holiday season is seeing how people decorate their homes,” Keith said. “This is a fun way for people to show pride in their community while spreading a little cheer.”
