Theodore boy’s body pulled from Mississippi lake

The body of a 4-year-old Theodore boy was pulled from a Mississippi lake Tuesday afternoon, roughly four hours after rescuers began searching for the child.

Jackson County (Miss.) Emergency Management Director Earl Etheridge said his department was notified of a child missing at Goodes Mill Lake, near the Mississippi-Alabama state line, about 12:37 p.m. Tuesday.

Etheridge gave the location of the drowning as 10501 Presley’s Outing Road in Jackson County. Presley’s Outing is a park, campground and RV park located along Goodes Mill Lake.

Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd identified the victim as 4-year-old Noah Smith of Theodore.
