The Miloâs Sweet Tea Freezey is glorious: Hereâs where you can get one
Summer is nearly over, but Milo’s sweet tea is a year-round obsession. To send you deeper into that cold-brewed rabbit hole, get familiar with the Milo’s Sweet Tea Freezey — a delicious frozen treat that’ll make you rethink life itself.
OK, perhaps I’m sweetening the teapot a bit, but if you ever wondered how an Arnold Palmer slushie might taste, your wish came true at a few gas stations near you.
Indeed, you can currently find this cold confection at only a handful of stores in Alabama, but more machines are coming soon, according to Taylor Sales and Service, the Irondale-based company (known as TSSI) that markets food service equipment including the Sweet Tea Freezey machines.

A product of the Milo’s Tea Company, the Freezey does, in fact, use Milo’s sweet tea to make the drink. I first discovered this gem at the Fast & Easy convenience store at the Chevron at 3800 Joe Mallisham Parkway in Tuscaloosa. Upon hearing it existed, I hit the first U-turn in sight and carefully sped down 15th Street and across town to try it for myself.
I walked into the Fast & Easy and, sure enough, there it was — spinning and mixing frozen sweet tea (with a hint of lemon), working beautifully. (It’s luck of the draw when you seek it out, whether the machine is working or in need of servicing/cleaning). Fortune smiled upon me two out of the three times I went, so I quickly grabbed the clear plastic up and giant yellow straw before giving myself a generous pour each time.
Measure your expectations, if you like. I did. Because it sounded too good to be true. I mean, doesn’t it? A Milo’s sweet tea slushie is the kind of thing kids dream up in lunch table conversation. And yet, here I was, swigging it and smiling through one devastating brain freeze after another. Like me, you will ignore your own cerebral pain to admire the minds of those who made this a reality.
Truth be told, I’d forgotten they existed since I first tried one in 2017, the moment I heard they’d installed one in my hometown. And when our friends at This is Alabama asked me to check if they were still sold in the area, I quickly obliged. As a lover of frozen treats in the sweltering Southern heat — from an old-fashioned Coke Icee to a locally produced Summer Snow snowball — chances seemed good I’d leave the Fast & Easy with the best headache I ever had.
But try this frosty goodness for yourself at the locations below, where TSSI says you can find them in Alabama.
