The latest on Bryce Young’s shoulder injury status
New week, same question. How’s Bryce Young?
As No. 3 Alabama heads to sixth-ranked Tennessee for the most anticipated game in this rivalry’s recent history, the Crimson Tide passing situation will again be in focus.
Nick Saban on Monday said Young was being reevaluated by the medical staff that day.
“Hopefully we’re going to try to get him ready to play this week,” Saban said. “But this is something where nobody can predict how quickly this is going to give him an opportunity to be able to go out and do what he needs to do. We’ll see as the week progresses.”
Young sprained the AC joint in his throwing shoulder Oct. 1 at Arkansas. He didn’t return to that game and wasn’t on the field Saturday against Texas A&M. The Heisman Trophy winner was in uniform but didn’t throw any passes during the pregame warmup. Saban said after the game Young wanted to play in the fourth quarter but he never entered the 24-20 win over the Aggies.
Jalen Milroe was 12-for-19 for 111 passing yards and three touchdowns against Texas A&M. He also ran 17 times for 83 yards but lost two fumbles that led to Aggie touchdowns on the following drives.
