This fall, the city of Saraland’s massive, $72 million sports complex called “The Land,” will open, and construction is underway now.

Last week, the Saraland City Council awarded White-Spunner Construction in Mobile a $24.3 million contract to build the indoor recreation center as well as some of the fields. And an official groundbreaking for The Land will be held next month, said Saraland Mayor Howard Rubenstein.
