‘The Grudge’ series premiere: How to watch, where to stream free

The brand new sports docuseries The Grudge premieres on Vice TV Wednesday, March 26 at 10/9c.

Narrated by former NFL linebacker Will Compton, The Grudge takes viewers inside sports’ fiercest rivalries, where every game is more than a contest—a battle for pride, redemption and legacy. Uncover the grudges that fuel legendary showdowns, turning rivalries into iconic moments in sports history.

The premiere episode of The Grudge titled “Shaq vs Kobe,” follows the pair as they join the Lakers. While it was predicted a dynasty would come of the two joining the team, clashing egos, contrasting styles and Hollywood pressure made their partnership a ticking time bomb.

Twelve episodes are confirmed for season one of The Grudge, and after the debut episode featuring Shaq and Kobe, episode two will detail the feud between Roger Clemens and Mike Piazza, both former American baseball players.

New episodes release weekly on Wednesdays.

Where can I watch The Grudge season 1?

Those interested in gaining insight to some of the biggest sports rivalries can stream the new series for free through Philo or DirecTV Stream—both of which have free trials set up for new subscribers. Out of the two, Philo is the cheaper option at just $28 a month after its free trial expires.

The Grudge is also available for streaming through Sling, and although there is no free trial, Sling is offering half off the first month to those who commit to a paid subscription.

What is Philo?

Philo is known for being one of the top entertainment-focused streaming platforms in the space. Subscribers can access over 70 top TV channels such as MTV, TLC, BET, A&E, AMC, CMT, Investigation Discovery and more at just $28 a month after its 7-day free trial concludes.

Along with thousands of hours of content available for streaming, Philo users can take advantage of key features such as the unlimited DVR feature, which allows subscribers to record favorite content easily.

What is DirecTV Stream?

Much like other top streaming services, DirecTV Stream offers subscribers with a plethora of live TV channels and helpful features, too. The Entertainment package, also known as DirecTV Stream’s base package, starts at just $86.99 a month after its 5-day free trial and includes popular TV channels such as HGTV, ESPN, Bravo, CMT, CNBC, BET, CNN and more.

Two other DirecTV Stream packages are the Choice package (original price $114.99) and the Ultimate package (original price $129.99), both of which are part of an ongoing promotion that offers new subscribers $25 off the original price for the first three months of their subscription.

DirecTV Stream has also recently introduced a lineup of genre packs, which allow subscribers to choose their favorite viewing options based on what genre they watch the most. Whether it’s MySports, MyEntertainment, MyNews or MiEspañol, users can get the channels and content they want without the worry of filler channel overload. Genre packs start at just $34.99 a month.

Sling is another streaming service to consider if you want to stream live TV channels like Vice TV. Though no free trial is available to new subscribers, those interested in committing to a paid plan get half off the first month.

Both the Sling Orange plan and the Sling Blue plan are normally $45.99 a month, but with the current promotion, Sling users will pay just $23 a month for the first month.

For those who wish to access channels from both the Sling Blue and Sling Orange plans can do so by signing up for the Orange + Blue plan, which combines the best of both plans for just $60.99 a month ($30.50 for the first month).
