Texas loses second running back to season-ending injury
The Texas Longhorns lost their second running back to a season-ending injury, the school announced Tuesday.
True freshman Christian Clark tore an Achilles tendon in practice.
The school said Clark will have surgery and will miss the remainder of the year. The news comes a week after it was announced CJ Baxter also will undergo season-ending knee surgery.
Texas checks in at No. 4 in the preseason AP Top 25. The Longhorns open the 2024 season against Colorado State on Aug. 31.
The Longhorns will now turn to Jaydon Blue, who has appeared in 23 games at Texas and rushed for 431 yards with three touchdowns.
