Texas A&M-Florida game started 1-0 Gators because Aggies forgot uniforms at hotel

The Texas A&M-Florida college basketball game Wednesday started with the scoreboard showing the Gators leading 1-0.

Why?

The Aggies delayed the start of the game after the team left its uniforms at the hotel in Gainesville, according to the ESPN broadcast, which included footage of Florida head coach Todd Golden giving his staff the news.

The result was Texas A&M got a technical foul to open the game, which Will Richard hit before the start of the game.

“I’ve never seen it before,” Jimmie Dykes said on the broadcast. “We’ll probably never see it again.”

The Aggies (8-5) are playing in their first SEC game of the year while Florida (7-6) looks to pick up its first conference win, having lost to Auburn last Wednesday.
