Terrion Arnold to team with Walker Hayes, Jalen Milroe on ‘LANK’ country song, he says
Have you ever wondered what it would sound like to Let A Naysayer Know but with a country twang?
Well, it appears we’re going to find out.
Former Alabama defensive back Terrion Arnold revealed he, Crimson Tide quarterback
Former Alabama defensive back Terrion Arnold is teaming up with Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe and country singer Walker Hayes to produce a “LANK” country song.
“Since you guys are my guys,” the Detroit Lions first-round pick told “The Next Round” on Tuesday, “I’m going to share some insider information that no one knows about. … “Walker Hayes, country singer, we got a LANK song coming out.”
No release date was announced.
Arnold told “The Next Round” his connection to Hayes came through Nick Saban’s daughter, Kristen.
As reported in 2022, Hayes is no stranger to SEC – and Alabama – football.
The singer loves college football, Applebee’s, Olive Garden and his Tide.
The Mobile, Alabama, native talked two years ago about the release of “Y’all Life” and the influences that impacted the making of the music video for the song.
“It took me back to Friday nights in Mobile going to St. Paul’s games where (wife) Laney and I graduated. It is very joyful, very timely with college football season coming up,” he said in 2022.
“Y’all Life” wasn’t the first time he has pledged his allegiance to the Tide. In his song, “AA,” he references Nick Saban. “In Alabama where they love Nick Saban” …
The only difference, though, is in “Ya’ll Life” he had Crimson Tide players in the video.
Defensive lineman Byron Young and receiver Ja’Corey Brooks, who caught a touchdown pass against Auburn in the Iron Bowl, appeared.
In terms of LANK, for the uninitiated, Milroe explained the acronym, which last season’s Crimson Tide made its rallying cry.
“Let A Naysayer Know. I think it was something we built throughout the offseason,” Milroe said in September. “We came as one unit to try of think of something, a motto, that’ll push our team. There’s a lot of doubt that took place throughout the offseason and a lot of things took place. That was one thing.”
Arnold, described as Milroe’s LANK brother, also described what LANK meant to him in September.
“Kind of like everybody disrespecting us and everybody doubting us,” Arnold said of the phrase. “Kind of like with us addressing all the disrespect and really taking it personal like we really take that personal. So this is the part when you go out there. Like coach Saban says, you play to the standard. You LANK ‘em.”
