Cigars were out in full force Saturday night after No. 6 Tennessee defeated No. 3 Alabama 52-49 on a game-winning field goal from Chase McGrath

Two guys that took in the sweet stench of a long-awaited cigar were Tennessee receiver Jalin Hyatt and Volunteers legend Peyton Manning, who picked his Vols to win earlier in the day during ESPN’s “College GameDay.” Manning even led the band in “Rocky Top” before the game.

Hyatt caught six passes for 207 yards and a Tennessee-record five touchdowns in the win. Hyatt’s fifth TD catch tied it at 49 with 3:26 left in the fourth.

“(This game) just happened,” Hyatt said. “It’s not just me. It was just the looks we got.”

Manning was 3-1 as the Vols quarterback against Alabama and became the first quarterback in Tennessee history to win three straight against the Crimson Tide.

In his four-game stint, Manning was 65 of 109 for 919 yards and seven scores.

They weren’t the only ones with cigars.

McGrath, Hendon Hooker and coach Josh Heupel also celebrated snapping the 15-year losing streak.

As soon as the kick knuckle-balled through the uprights, some of the more than 100,000 fans stormed the field to celebrate the Volunteers win. It didn’t take long for the goal posts to go down. Hendon Hooker drove the Vols 45 yards in 18 seconds to set up the winner.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, a game-time decision because of a sprained right shoulder two weeks ago, completed 35 passes for 455 yards and two TDs.
