Tennessee’s new Buc-ee’s is world’s largest, but not for long

The world’s largest Buc-ee’s location opens today in Sevierville, Tenn.

But it won’t hold the title that long, as a bigger one is currently under construction in Texas.

The 74,000-square-feet flagship store in Tennessee has 120 gas pumps, 22 electric vehicle stations and a 250-foot car wash. Traditional Buc-ee’s favorites, such as beef brisket sandwiches and Beaver Nuggets, are available, as you might expect.

The location, announced two years ago, is right off Interstate 40 at Exit 407 at the main entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains. The store is situated on the route for tourists making their way to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville.

But that store will soon be dwarfed by a 75,000 square foot store, being built in Luling, Texas along Interstate 10, just an hour outside of Austin, according to KXAN.

It will replace a Buc-ee’s built about 20 years ago which only covers about 35,000 square feet and employs 100 people, according to CBS Austin. The new store will hire about 250 people.

The Texas-based gas and snack paradise has locations in Auburn, Leeds, Robertsdale and Athens.

Buc-ee’s operates 46 stores across the South, with locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The company recently broke ground in Colorado and Missouri, with has announced another Tennessee store and its first Virginia location.
