2 Rushing TDs has been scored against Georgia’s defense this season, the fewest in the nation. The Tennessee offense has scored 26 rushing TDs this season, tied with Baylor for third in the nation behind Georgia’s 28 and Ole Miss’ 27.
3 Consecutive games against Tennessee have featured at least 40 points for Georgia. The Bulldogs have never scored 40-or-more points in four consecutive games against an SEC rival. Georgia defeated Tennessee 43-14 in 2019, 44-21 in 2020 and 41-17 in 2021. The Bulldogs have one other 40-point streak against an SEC opponent of more than two games, having scored at least 40 in each of their past three games against South Carolina.

3 Plays from scrimmage involving Georgia TE Brock Bowers have gained at least 70 yards, tied with Louisiana-Monroe WR Tyrone Howell for the most in the nation this season. Bowers caught a 73-yard TD pass in the Bulldogs’ 42-20 victory over Florida last week. Bowers also had a 78-yard TD reception in a 48-7 victory over South Carolina on Sept. 17 and a 75-yard TD run in a 39-22 victory over Kent State on Sept. 24.
4 Consecutive Tennessee games have featured at least 40 points for the Volunteers, tied for the longest streak with 40-or-more points in school history. It’s Tennessee’s fourth streak of four games with 40 or more points. The SEC record for consecutive games with at least 40 points is 13, achieved by Texas A&M during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Georgia ranks second in the nation in scoring defense, yielding an average of 10.5 points per game in 2022.
5 Previous games between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the AP Poll have matched SEC members. While Tennessee is No. 1 and Georgia No. 3 in this week’s CFP rankings, the Bulldogs are No. 1 and the Volunteers No. 2 in this week’s AP Poll. No. 2 Florida defeated No. 1 Alabama 31-20 in the SEC Championship Game in 2008, No. 2 Alabama defeated No. 1 Florida 32-13 in the SEC Championship Game in 2009, No. 1 LSU defeated No. 2 Alabama 9-6 in overtime and No. 2 Alabama defeated No. 1 LSU 21-0 in the BCS national championship game in 2011 and No. 1 LSU defeated No. 2 Alabama 46-41 in 2019. Tennessee and Georgia have been involved in one 1-vs.-2 game apiece. In the Sugar Bowl after the 1982 season, No. 1 Georgia lost to No. 2 Penn State 27-23. In the BCS national championship game for the 1998 season, No. 1 Tennessee defeated No. 2 Florida State 23-16.
5 Victories over ranked teams for Tennessee in 2022, the first time that the Volunteers have defeated five ranked teams in a single regular season. Tennessee defeated No. 17 Pitt 34-27 in overtime on Sept. 10, No. 20 Florida 38-33 on Sept. 24, No. 25 LSU 40-13 on Oct. 8, No. 3 Alabama 52-49 on Oct. 15 and No. 19 Kentucky 44-6 on Oct. 29. The Volunteers are the only team in the nation that has defeated five teams ranked in the AP Poll at the time of the game in 2022.
7 Consecutive games with at least one 100-yard receiver for Tennessee. During the streak, Jalin Hyatt has had four 100-yard games, Bru McCoy two and Cedric Tillman and Squirrel White one apiece. Two players have had 100-yard receiving games against Georgia this season. Kent State’s Devontez Walker had seven receptions for 106 yards and one TD on Sept. 24, and Florida’s Xzavier Henderson had five receptions for 110 yards and one TD on Oct. 29. Last season, Tennessee WR Cedric Tillman had 10 receptions for 200 yards and one TD against Georgia.
9 Receptions by Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt have gained at least 40 yards this season. No SEC team has more 40-yard pass plays this season than Hyatt, with Kentucky also totaling nine. Tennessee has completed 19 passes that have gained at least 40 yards – six more than any other team in the nation. Georgia has allowed six completions that have gained at least 40 yards in 2021.
13 Years since Georgia lost a conference game at home in November. The most recent SEC opponent to win at Sanford Stadium in November is Kentucky, which scored a 34-27 victory in Athens on Nov. 21, 2009. The Bulldogs’ winning streak covers 13 games with four victories over Kentucky, four over Auburn, two over Missouri, one over Ole Miss, one over Texas A&M and one over Mississippi State.
14 TD receptions for Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt to set a school single-season record after he had five receptions for 138 yards and two TDs in last week’s 44-6 victory over Kentucky. Hyatt broke the record of 13 established by WR Marcus Nash in 1997. Hyatt has 11 TD receptions in the Volunteers’ past four games, and he is the first player in Tennessee history with multiple TD receptions in four consecutive games. Hyatt has four more TD receptions than any other player in the nation this season.
15 Consecutive victories have been tallied by Georgia in the game after its annual contest against Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. Since Kentucky beat the Bulldogs 24-20 after the Florida game in 2006, Georgia has defeated Kentucky five times, Missouri twice, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and South Carolina once apiece and five non-conference opponents in the game after playing the Gators.
15 Victories without a loss for Tennessee under coach Josh Heupel when the Volunteers are ahead at halftime. Tennessee is 0-6 under Heupel when it hasn’t led at halftime.
16 Consecutive conference games have been won by Georgia. The Bulldogs have had one longer winning streak in SEC play. A 23-game streak across the 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983 seasons was ended by a 13-7 loss to Auburn on Nov. 12, 1983. Georgia has the 10th conference winning streak in SEC history that has reached 16 games. The record is a 26-game SEC streak achieved by Alabama across the 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980 seasons.
18 Receptions for 519 yards and nine TDs in the past three games for Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt. Those three games would rank Hyatt fifth in receiving yards and tied for first in TD receptions among the SEC’s other receivers for this season. Overall, Hyatt has 45 receptions for 907 yards and 14 TDs. He’s tied for first in the conference in receptions and leads the league in receiving yards and TD receptions in 2022.
20 Consecutive Tennessee games have featured at least one TD pass by QB Hendon Hooker, the longest streak in school history. In the only game he’s played at Tennessee without a TD pass, Hooker threw only once. In the past 11 games, Hooker has thrown at least two TD passes in each. Georgia was the most recent team to hold Hooker to fewer than two TD passes. Last season in a 41-17 loss to the Bulldogs, Hooker completed 24-of-37 passes for 244 yards with one TD and one interception.
23 Consecutive regular-season games have been won by Georgia, the seventh-longest streak in SEC history. The Bulldogs haven’t lost in the regular season since 44-28 setback against Florida on Nov. 7, 2020. The longest regular-season winning streak in SEC history lasted 33 games, which Tennessee achieved between a 13-7 loss to Vanderbilt on Nov. 13, 1937, and a 19-0 loss to Duke on Oct. 4, 1941.
24 Years since Tennessee had an 9-0 record, a mark the Volunteers would own again if they defeat Georgia. Tennessee won all 13 of its games in the 1998 season on its way to the BCS national championship. This is the seventh season during the SEC era in which the Volunteers have won their first eight games, joining 1938, 1939, 1940, 1951, 1956 and 1998. In each of those seasons, Tennessee won its ninth game.
26 Victories for Georgia, 23 victories for Tennessee and two ties in their football series. Georgia has won the past five meetings.
352 Games have been played by Georgia since it was most recently shut out, the second-longest scoring streak in SEC history and the sixth-longest in major-college football history. The Bulldogs haven’t been blanked since losing to Alabama 31-0 on Sept. 30, 1995.
395 Points have been scored by Tennessee in 2022, the most in the nation and the third-most by an SEC team eight games into a season. Alabama had 433 points eight games into the 2018 season, and Florida had 413 points eight games into the 1996 season.
