Tennessee teen killed, 3 hurt in multi-vehicle wreck near Montgomery

A Tennessee teenager was killed and three other people were injured following a multi-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon on I-65 near Montgomery, authorities said Monday.

The 13-year-old was a passenger in a 2016 Toyota Rav4 that collided head-on with a 2016 Infiniti Q50 around 1:25 p.m. Friday on I-65 near the 189-mile marker, about eight miles north of Prattville, in Autauga County, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sgt. Jeremy Burkett.

After that collision, the Infiniti was then struck by a 2008 Cadillac DTS. The Infiniti was then struck by a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500, said Burkett.

The teen, who was not publicly identified, was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.

A 14-year-old who was also a passenger in the Rav4 was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The Rav4′s driver was taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for her injuries, Burkett said.

Another victim was injured and taken to Baptist Medical; authorities did not say which vehicle they were in.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
